History and medal information - An oval medal with a suspender in the form of an eagle with wings outspread. Obverse - the effigy if the reigning monarch; Reverse - inscribed AIR EFFICIENCY AWARD. Granted for 10 years efficient service in the Auxiliary and volunteer air forces of the United Kingdom and commonwealth. A bar is awarded for additional 10 years service.
