History and medal information - This medal was awarded to personnel serving In Rhodesia for fourteen days between 1st December 1979 and 20th March 1980, pending the elections and the emergence of the independent republic of Zimbabwe. Medals to the armed forces were issued un-named or named in impressed capitals.
