MINIATURE PACIFIC STAR MEDAL WITH BURMA CLASP WW2 MEDAL.

Ribbon Colours - Dark Green (the jungle) with a central Yellow stripe (the beaches), narrow stripes of Dark and Light Blue (Royal Navy and RAF) and wider atripes of Red (Army) at the edges.

Item - Genuine Miniature Medal in mint condition with ribbon.

History and medal information - This is the least known WW2 Campaign star and unlike the other campaign stars it is only awarded to RAF and Commonwealth aircrews. The ribbon colour is interesting as it has a pale blue stripe (indicating the sky) black edges (night flying) and a narrow yellow stripe on each side (indicating enemy search lights). Awarded for operational flying from UK bases over Europe for a period of 2 months between 3rd September 1939 and 4th June 1944.
