MINIATURE GULF WAR MEDAL 1990 WITH RARE 2 AUGUST 1990 CLASP.

Ribbon Colours - Sand coloured broad central stripe flanked by narrow stripes of Dark Blue, Red and Light Blue. Respresenting the colour of the desert and the 3 armed forces Navy, Army and Air Force.

Item - Genuine Miniature Medal in mint condition with ribbon.

History and medal information - British Gulf War Medal awarded to the armed forces during the desert campaign of 1990-1991 to the 4th & 7th Armoured Brigades. Around 33,000 British men /women were deployed but only about 7,700 combatant troops received the bar (16th Jan-28th Feb 1991). The use of modern technology assisted the Allies in defeating the Iraqi Armed forces including the Medina and Republican Guard Divisions in the Air and on the Ground with the Royal Artillerys MRLS and the Challenger/ Warrior IFV Tank and Infantry Crews. The American Air attacks on the Basra road was "the nail in the coffin" and the Iraqi army ceased to be a fighting cohesive force.
