This medal was never issued without the Queens medal and was awarded to all personnel engaged in operations in South Africa in 1901-1902 when fighting was confined to numerous skirmishes with isolated guerrilla bands. This medal has 2 possible clasps SOUTH AFRICA 1901 and SOUTH AFRICA 1902. The ribbon colours are - Three equal stripes of Green, White and Orange.
