Item - Full Size Commemorative Medal in mint condition with ribbon and plastic medal wallet.

History and medal information - Malta is the only country to be awarded the George Cross medal for "Fortress Malta" who received more aerial attacks than any other country during WW2. They also played a massive part harrasing and destroying Axis merchant shipping destined for North Africa which helped turn the tide in N Africa. In 1943 they received 7 new spitfires and started to have success in the air shooting down 3 enemy aircraft to every 1 loss. With more convoys getting through and a squadron of RAF latest fighters (Spitfire and Hurricanes) delivered the odds changed in favour of this Gallant Country.

This medal celebrates the 50th Anniversary to an amazing Country who helped more than given credit for in WW2
